Jacky Fitzpatrick has worked in the care industry for 30 years, gaining wide-ranging experience in residential, nursing, and dementia care, as well as acquired and traumatic brain injury.
Having started her career as a nursing home carer, Jacky went on to manage a branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.
In 2011 she became Deputy Manager at our award-winning sister care home, Honey Lane, and went on to manage our specialist brain injury care home in Waltham Abbey before joining our team here at The Spinney in January 2017. During this time, Jacky has successfully overseen four unannounced CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspections resulting in a Good outcome.
Speaking about life at The Spinney, Jacky says: “Everyone feels part of a big family here. I love the fact that we can make a difference to the lives of not just our residents but their family and friends as well. I feel lucky to come into work every day to such a lovely environment, it is an honour to provide our residents with loving care and support.”
Jacky holds a Registered Manager Award, a BTEC Diploma in Mental Health, a Level 5 diploma in Managing in Health and Social Care Settings, as well as numerous training certificates including a Level 3 diploma PTLLS. In addition, Jacky’s professional training with the Alzheimer’s Society means she is accredited to train others in the field of dementia care, something she is committed to continuing at The Spinney.
She says: “I hope to continue to build on the wonderful reputation that The Spinney has for exceptional care by developing our team even further using my training skills and developing the environment of the home with input from residents and families.”
When she’s not at The Spinney, Jacky gets to care for her ever growing family; her husband, five children, two grandchildren and rescue cat Molly! As a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur supporter, Jacky is passionate about sport and also keenly follows the local Kent Cricket club as well as international cricket.
